Ord Machining is located in the beautiful East Kimberley region of Northern Western Australia.  We are seeking a self-motivated and energetic career focused person to join our team. In the position of Retail Manager.

The successful applicant for this position will be customer focused and have a passion for sales and service. Oversee sales operations of the Ord Group, including Ord Machining, Ord Agricultural Equipment and Katherine Ag. You will service customers, manage staff, manage inventory, order and receive stock, maintain records of stock levels and financial transactions. Set policies and ensure that they are followed and updated to remain relevant. Previous experience in sales and service and a knowledge and interest in agricultural and mechanical equipment is required.

Duties Include:

  • Liaise with both workshop and administration staff. Be able to recruit, supervise, manage, and provide training to staff.
  • Ensure Ord Machining operates within it’s budget expenditure.
  • Manage store advertising and promotional activities.
  • Ensure that stock is received in good condition, at the correct price and within expected timeframes.
  • Ensure stock is purchased at the best possible price and is stored neatly and securely.
  • Supply items and advice to customers as required
  • Ensure products are sold to customers at the correct price and in accordance with markup policies.

Essential criteria:

  • Drivers Licence
  • Ability to work as a part of a team and manage staff
  • Good numerical and computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to pass a police clearance
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales, parts interpreting experience
  • Experience using Mechanic Desk and Xero are advantageous.

Excellent wages and conditions apply. Salary estimate $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 depending on skill level and qualifications.

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Spare Parts Sales Assistant to join the Ord Machining Team in the Kimberley of WA.

The successful applicant for this position will be customer focused and have a passion for sales and service.

You will serve customers, manage inventory, order and receive stock, prepare orders ready for dispatch, arrange in store displays.

Previous experience in sales and service and/or a knowledge and interest in agricultural and mechanical equipment is desirable, as is attention to detail, good numerical skills and have great computer literacy.

The position offers an opportunity for training and development of sales skills in specialised product lines, including wholegoods.

Ord Machining is seeking a First Class machinist apprentice to join our team. This apprentiship is a 4 year commitment. Duties including learning and performing machining, repairing and fabrication of a variety of components for our customer base. Including customers in the mining, agricultural and  construction industries. Along with other local and regional customers.

We require enthusiatic individuals who have the ability to work within a team and individually.  An ability to work through tasks and find solutions is a must, as is the ability to communicate effectively within the business.

Essential criteria.

  • Have completed year 12 education.
  • Hard working and willing to learn.
  • Have a interest machining and engineering.
  • Excellent computer skills, experience using AutoCAD programs adventagous.
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Ability to pass a national police check.

• Engineering – Fabrication Trade Certificate 3 or similar

• Excellent knowledge of operating Mig and Tig welders

• Self motivated, highly organised with attention to detail and ability to work independently

• The ability to work within timeframes

• Pride in your teamwork, communication and customer service skills

• Driven to learn and grown in your role

• Experience with on site work is advantageous

• Valid Drivers Licence
